Syria accuses Israel of setting occupied Golan on fire

siria-ataque3-1
Damascus, Jun 18 (Prensa Latina) Israel's occupation forces set agricultural lands on fire in Syria's Golan, occupied by Tel Aviv since 1967, according to activists, who were quoted by several media outlets.

The sources said that Israeli regulars set fire to lands planted with fruit trees in the occupied localities of Buqatha, Jabatha Al-Khashab and Al-Hurriya.

The flames spread to the liberated part on the Syrian side, where villagers mobilized to prevent the fire from spreading and prevent it from damaging apple and olive crops.

Israel occupied the Golan after the so-called Six-Day War in 1967 and incorporated the territory into its legal system in 1981, which was rejected by the international community.

Damascus has repeatedly asserted that the Golan is an inseparable part of Syria, and its recovery by all means is guaranteed by international law will remain a priority.

Syria has denounced Israel’s practices to appropriate the lands and properties of Syrians.
