The organization will recognize the work of Prensa Latina (PL) as the voice and history of the Cuban Revolution, the nations of the South, and several of its outstanding professionals.

Prensa Latina was founded on June 16, 1959, after Operation Truth, an action conceived by the historic leader Fidel Castro to inform about the Cuban revolutionary process and refute the misrepresentations of the hegemonic media.

For ACNU, Prensa Latina is the result of the thought of Fidel and Che (Ernesto Guevara). PL’s mission is “permanent and transcendent” in defending Cuba and the global progressive movements.
