The Foreign Minister denounced on the social network X that it is unacceptable that more than 50 thousand children in Gaza suffer from acute malnutrition.
According to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), almost three thousand malnourished children are at risk of dying before the eyes of their families in Gaza while the risk of normalizing the situation of minors overcrowded with their families in camps after being displaced numerous times is increasing.
The Fund’s spokesman, James Elder, recently warned that the Israeli offensive and obstacles to the entry of humanitarian aid are catapulting children into a nutritional crisis.
He said the destruction of health facilities, including specialized centers critical to preventing malnutrition, has severely hampered efforts to address severe hunger among children in a context of constant bombardment and attacks.
The UNICEF spokesperson emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire to address the humanitarian crisis, bring hostages home, and allow the delivery of aid, education, and medical care.
