MONUSCO condemns violence by ADF rebels in DR Congo

Kinshasa, Jun 17 (Prensa Latina) Vivian van de Perre, special deputy representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Protection and Operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on Monday condemned the violence promoted by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).

On her X profile, Van de Perre condemned the atrocities committed by that armed group in North Kivu, where some 200 people were killed in a month.

She also rejected the attack on a patrol of the United Nations Stabilization Mission (MONUSCO) on Saturday, in which one of the soldiers was injured.

Van de Perre added that the peacekeepers demand unhindered access to protect civilians.
