The Cuban moviemaker won the Best First Work prize in the Ibero-American Fiction Film category at the event, and ICAIC, from Havana, expressed its appreciation on social media.

The cultural institution also recalled that the recently awarded film won the Development Fund in its second call, with the production title “Obra de Choque” (Shock Labor), which ratifies the pride for national cinematography.

In an emotional closing ceremony on Saturday, actor Diego Luna assured that the FICG, Mexico’s longest-running film festival, is a place to foster the industry; actor Alfredo Castro rejected the genocide in Gaza, Palestine; and Argentine filmmakers expressed their support for cinema under attack in their country, according to the website of the University of Guadalajara.
