The ELN also endorsed that it assesses the agreement on the Design of Participation of Society in the peace process, reached in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, on May 24. It resulted in the contribution of thousands of voices and organizations of the Colombian society, which aspire to have a sovereign country with full democracy and social and inclusive justice.

The text added that this objective will be achieved through a Great National Agreement that makes viable the changes expected by large social sectors.The press release added that built with social participation after reflecting the majority’s expectations for change, this peace process can open or converge in a constituent process.

Despite assuring its disposition facing negotiations to achieve peace, it asserted that the talks are currently going through a severe crisis, which it attributed to non-compliance by the Government.
