In a message addressed to Yolanda Ferrer, president of the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association, the solidarity organization stated it had learned that in mid-May, Washington removed Cuba from its list of countries not fully cooperating with US anti-terrorism efforts in 2023.
“Although it was a necessary action, it is still insufficient by the United States,” the statement stressed, adding that it also urged “to stop imposing the measures of the US economic and financial blockade, which are unreasonable and unfounded, to cause serious consequences and effects on the lives of the brotherly Cuban people.”
The Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnamese grass-roots organizations always have the conviction and firmly support the revolutionary cause of the Cuban people in the struggle against the US blockade and for the country’s construction and development.
The document also stressed support for the process of dialogue and cooperation between Cuba and the United States in a constructive spirit of mutual respect, the search for solutions to differences, and the promotion of relations between the two countries, contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region.
