According to a message posted by the organization on its X profile, all necessary forces are in situ to control the fire and the CTE is on line, generating 260 megawatts, while the causes of the fire are under investigation.
The fire occurred two hours ago in a fuel tank with a capacity of some 10,000 cubic meters of national crude oil to supply the Antonio Guiteras power plant.
The first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in the province, Mario Sabine, confirmed that there are no human casualties and the entire medical emergency system is ready to act if necessary.
According to reports from local media, the incident does not compromise the operation and stability of the CTE and there is a coordinated response from the thermal power plant workers, whose brigades extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to other warehouses.
