“The conflict in Gaza has been going on for more than eight months and has claimed more than 37,000 lives. The top priority is to fully and effectively implement the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and establish an immediate ceasefire,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lin Jian told a press conference.
He also referred to the need to effectively protect civilians, ensure humanitarian rescue and release all detainees as soon as possible.
Lin stressed that China will continue to work to make unremitting efforts to end the war in Gaza at an early date, alleviate the grave humanitarian situation and implement the two-state solution.
