Venezuela recognizes Russia’s role in consolidating multilateralism

Caracas, Jun 12 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela expressed on Wednesday its recognition of Russia's invaluable role in the consolidation of multilateralism, as a guarantee of international peace and security.

In a statement, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry warmly greeted Russia on the 34th anniversary of the Declaration of the Sovereignty of the Federation and National Day, highlighting Moscow’s positive leadership in the construction of the multipolar world.

It made special mention, in that regard, of its work to strengthen the BRICS strategic alliance in the search for a fairer and more balanced world order.

The Ministry also extended its congratulations to Russian President Vladimir Putin, “who with leadership and wisdom has ushered in a new and vigorous era in this great nation.”

The communiqué reiterated the unwavering decision of the Bolivarian Government to strengthen the sisterhood, solidarity and friendship between the two countries, in a strategic union beneficial to both peoples and active in the defense of the sovereign right of nations to realize their integral development.

In accordance, the statement referred, with “the principles of mutual respect, cooperation and fraternity between peoples.”

The Minister for Foreign Affairs Yvan Gil posted on X that on June 12 marks the 34th anniversary of Russia Day, which commemorates the Declaration of National Sovereignty in 1990 when the Federation was born.

On behalf of President Nicolas Maduro, “Venezuela joins the celebration of the sisterly Russian people, with whom we have strong and unbreakable ties of friendship and cooperation,” the FM pointed out.
