The documentary presents statements and testimonies from the sessions of the judicial process held last November 16 and 17 in Brussels, Belgium, in which prestigious specialists and members of jurists’ organizations from Europe and the United States opposed the U.S. blockade.
It also gathers testimonies of the Cuban population that suffers daily the harsh consequences of the economic policy imposed by the U.S. government on Cuba for over 60 years, denunciations of the extraterritorial scope of this policy which affects third states and their sovereignty, and turns it into an act of economic warfare in violation of international norms.
Produced by Resumen Latinoamericano with the collaboration of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), the documentary by young filmmaker Yaimí Ravelo complements the book Denuncia de un Crimen (Editorial Ocean Sur 2024), which contains the Memoirs of that international tribunal.
According to ICAP President Fernando González, the audiovisual is a tool for the battles against the U.S. blockade.
Ravelo, on the other hand, expressed his interest in reflecting the feeling of solidarity and love for Cuba that he appreciated in the hearings, the result of which was the sentence against the blockade, considering it a violation of human rights and a concentrated attack against the basic structures of society, its livelihood and development capabilities.
