Cubaindustry 2024 for more industrial integration (+Photo)

Havana, Jun 12 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Deputy Minister of Industry Ernesto Cedeño said that the main goal of the 4th edition of Cubaindustry 2024 is to achieve more integration, complementarity and international insertion in the industrial sphere.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Cedeño explained that the event, to be held from June 17 to 21, is a great opportunity to join forces and strengthen alliances with different companies in the sector, with national and international technological partners, with new forms of non-state management and with the Union of Military Industries, as well as with those who participate in development, innovation, research centers, and universities to put all these solutions in function of industrial development and to meet the demand from the population and exports, the deputy minister noted.

Cubaindustry is conceived in two moments that will develop in unison. An International Convention at which ten congresses and a design forum will be held at Havana’s International Conference Center, and at the same time the International Exhibition of Cuban Industry, to be held at the Pabexpo fairgrounds.

Cedeño explained that this edition will be marked by an Industrial Development Policy, which will serve as a common thread in each of the events, congresses, and exhibition fairs.

Under the motto For greater complementarity, integration and international insertion for industrial development, some 1,265 delegates have confirmed their participation in the event, including 1,157 national and 108 foreign participants from 22 countries like Venezuela, Spain, France, Russia, Belarus, Türkiye, Namibia, China and Vietnam.

The deputy minister recalled that this edition will be marked by the complex national and international scenario that affects Cuba, especially the impacts of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States, in addition to other measures applied by the US Government.

Regarding the fair, Cubaindustry Vice President Carlos Alberto Gómez said that there are about 4,000 square meters for about 360 participants. Of them, 338 exhibitors, 276 Cuban with 94 companies, 49 foreigners with 22 enterprises, 13 forms of non-state management and 22 participants linked to designs.

Other spaces will be dedicated to light industries, packaging, military, steel, chemicals, recycling, and more.

To date, the signing of 26 legal documents linked to investment, trade and industrial cooperation has been identified, including letters of intent, memorandums of understanding, agreements, alliances and commercial contracts.

Regarding the international Convention, it was known that the event will be attended by 927 delegates, 868 national and 59 foreigners from 12 countries; and 333 presentations are confirmed, 315 national and 18 by foreigners; 62 master conferences, 38 by national speakers and 24 foreigners.
