According to a statement from the Cuban Energy and Mines Ministry (MINEM), during the meeting, which will last through June 13, regional gas integration will also be analyzed and new proposals will be presented for the LIV Meeting of Energy Ministers of Latin America and the Caribbean to be held in October in Paraguay.
This Board of Experts is the first session for the LIV Meeting of Energy Ministers of Latin America and the Caribbean and is coordinated by the Minem and supported by the European Union (EU).
It is supported by the EU-Cuba Experience Exchange Project for the promotion of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.
This project is focused on supporting the energy transition in Cuba with emphasis on the regulatory framework and access to investment, and is financed by the EU and implemented by the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Public Administration and Policy.
The meeting will also include the 17th Working Meeting of Advisors of the Energy Information System for Latin America and the Caribbean, aimed at consolidating the processes and methodologies applied in the management and administration of statistical energy information.
Energy plays a fundamental role in the development and well-being of countries, and Latin America and the Caribbean are determined to face current and future energy challenges with a collaborative and sustainable vision, the text underlines.
