According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang Yi said this during his speech at the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ meeting “Dialogue with Developing Countries (“BRICS+”), which is taking place in Russia.

Wang said that the “BRICS+” is an important platform for dialogue for the countries of that bloc and other developing nations facing emerging markets.

We live in an era of turmoil and chaos. But even in these times, they have become a banner of South-South cooperation; adding vitality and boosting the development of nations, the Chinese Foreign Minister pointed out.

He warned that -to maintain their unipolar hegemony-certain countries have rallied their allies to impose unilateral sanctions and build high protectionist barriers; in addition to using economic and financial means as weapons.

The North-South divide continues to widen, and global economic recovery faces setbacks. But at the same time, this is also an era of a rising tide in the South and renewal of everything, Wang described.

He also recognized that the collective increase of emerging markets and developing countries is greatly promoting the process of global multipolarity.

A new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is growing, and numerous countries are on the fast track to development, he encouraged.
