The Ministry specified that the objective of the training is to guarantee the defense of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.

The routine exercises conducted by Russian nuclear forces consist of three phases: the first took place on May 21st in the Southern Military District with the participation of the Aerospace Forces and the Navy. Belarusian servicemen joined the second phase of the exercises.

According to the note from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the army of the two countries will exercise in coordinating the use of tactical nuclear weapons.
