Dominican MIU condemns right wing in Venezuela

Santo Domingo, Jun 10 (Prensa Latina) The United Left Movement (MIU) of the Dominican Republic disapproved the maneuver by extreme right-wing sectors in Venezuela, seeking to generate violence during the elections on July 28 in that country.

“We condemn the maneuver by the right wing against President Nicolás Maduro. All our support for the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the Presidential Candidate Nicolás Maduro,” the political group expressed on social media.

The MIU, whose general secretary, Miguel Mejía, is visiting Vietnam after an intense agenda in China, referred readers to a report by the international news channel RT, according to which the Venezuelan president thanked the people for their support for his campaign rallies, and highlighted the “good work” by the security teams.

During an event on Sunday with PSUV leaders, Maduro charged that there are “hired assassins” at the disposal of the opposition who are preparing an attack on him in view of next month’s presidential elections, RT reported.

Prensa Latina reported from Caracas that the president had reiterated his warnings to extreme right-wing sectors that are trying to generate violence in Venezuela after the results of the elections are announced by the National Electoral Council.

He also called to strengthen the presence in the streets of the Bolivarian, Chavista, patriotic and democratic forces of the country, during the electoral process, Prensa Latina added.
