The work plan called for 27,976 consultations, but the Cuban doctors managed to exceed the program by 23%. According to a document to which Prensa Latina had access, 44,585 consultations were scheduled for May 2023, and 49,295 were carried out, for a compliance rate of 111%.
The report states that the Cuban Medical Brigade in Haiti performed more than 4,700 free surgeries in May.
In the fifth month of 2024, 4,711 such procedures were conducted, including 1,018 major ones and 3,693 minor ones.
The document points out that 3,6 minor surgeries are performed for each major intervention.
The monthly plan in this medical area is 3,419, and it is overfulfilled by 38 percent.
The report underlines that by 2024 the figure of 43,680 operations is set. Up to May, 18,131 operations were to be performed, and 22,528 were performed. Now, 21,152 are pending to close 2024.
In reference to major surgeries, 119,7% and 143,7% of minor surgeries have been performed.
