The journalist and writer recalled that this media was founded in 1959, in Havana, thanks to the efforts of leaders Fidel Castro and Ernesto Che Guevara to inform the truth about what was happening with the Cuban Revolution, a process he described as unique, sui generis and full of the most intense love.
Díaz-Granados sent congratulations to the Prensa Latina staff on the occasion of its 65th anniversary, which he described as an extraordinary event, and whose existence prevented the misrepresentation of what was popping up in Cuba.
“Thanks to Prensa Latina the world learned the truth in all its forms: aggressions that U.S. imperialism tried and has done throughout 65 years of Revolution, starting with the Bay of Pigs invasion”, he claimed.
Díaz-Granados expressed his pride in having been part of his team while he lived in Cuba during his exile, and in continuing to collaborate even after his return to Colombia.
“I congratulate Prensa latina and wish, as Fidel used to say, that the Revolution will last for eternity. Long live Prensa Latina,” he stated.
