After 35 years of diplomatic relations, the bond between Vietnam and Venezuela enjoys an extraordinary level, Gil Pinto said when received by his host. He said that this meeting would be another step toward achieving greater rapprochement.

The Bolivarian Foreign Minister stressed his gratitude for Vietnam’s firm position in defense of Venezuela’s interests and the fight against the imposition of unilateral coercive measures, as well as for the attentions and cordial welcome, received on his first visit to Hanoi, a city he described as heroic and an example for humanity.

Thanh Son, in return, expressed his confidence that the Venezuelan diplomat’s stay in Vietnam would make an important contribution to developing a comprehensive relationship between the two countries and reiterated Vietnam’s desire to enhance the traditional ties of friendship with the Bolivarian Republic.

Referring to today’s meeting, he anticipated that they would address the current situation of both countries and measures to strengthen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investment, agriculture, and research, to increase mutual trust and to make the relationship more effective and lasting.
