Founded on June 16, 1959, in Havana, this agency was the first Latin American communication project of international scope with an alternative vision of regional reality.

It currently has around 35 offices in different countries, mostly in the American continent, and broadcasts some 400 daily dispatches in Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, Italian and Russian.
