Alckmin was received last night by Chinese President Xi Jinping, who recalled that in April 2023, together with his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, they reached “an important consensus to lead and open the new future of bilateral relations in the new era”.
Xi meant that, over the past year, with joint efforts, both nations deepened mutual strategic trust, advanced pragmatic cooperation, and closely coordinated on the international stage.
As major developing countries and key emerging market economies, China and Brazil share broad common strategic interests and their relationship goes beyond bilateral scope, setting an example for promoting solidarity and cooperation among developing nations, for global peace and stability, he said.
The Chinese head of state, quoted by national news media, ratified the readiness to continue to develop strategic plans for bilateral relations with a more progressive vision and to take full advantage of the role of the China-Brazil High-Level Coordination and Cooperation Committee.
