Gil Pinto will make a brief stopover in Hanoi, the first visit to Vietnam since he took office, and his agenda will begin on Saturday, when he will lay a wreath at the mausoleum that keeps the remains of Vietnamese independence hero and President Ho Chi Minh.

Afterwards, he will go to the Government Guest House, where he will hold talks with his Vietnamese counterpart, Bui Thanh Son, before concluding the official program with a meeting in the afternoon with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Gil Pinto’s first visit to Vietnam is a good opportunity to review and promote bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, economic and trade fields, as well as in investment, agriculture, construction, gas and telecommunications, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Phạm Thu Hang said on Thursday.

When announcing the Venezuelan foreign minister’s visit, she noted that it will allow discussing the measures to strengthen the bilateral partnership with Vietnamese authorities.
