“China is willing to work with Venezuela and take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as a new starting point, to translate into practical actions the important consensus reached by the two heads of state,” stressed Wang Huning, who recalled that in September last year, the presidents of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and of China, Xi Jinping, announced the uplift of bilateral ties to the category of “all-time comprehensive strategic partnership”.
Gil Pinto, in turn, highlighted that under the guidance of the two heads of state, bilateral relations have entered the best period in their history and ratified Venezuela’s full support for the global initiatives proposed by China. “Venezuela will continue to be a reliable friend, firmly adhere to the one-China principle, and work to promote the strategic partnership endorsed last year,” he said.
During his stay in Beijing, Pinto also held conversations with his counterpart Wang Yi in which both noted the strong boost given in recent times to the ties between the two nations.
“Under the strategic direction of the two heads of state, the ties between China and Venezuela have developed with a clearer direction and enriched content,” said Wang Yi and pointed out that the consensus reached by the two leaders should serve as a guide towards the future advancement of bilateral ties.
It is necessary to “systematically summarize the successful experiences of the last 50 years of bilateral relations, make strategic plans with a future perspective, and inject new connotations into the All-Time comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries,” the Chinese authority considered.
