In a press release signed by its secretary, Attorney Premadara Dissanayake, the Sri Lanka-Cuba Friendship Association denounced Washington’s categorization of Cuba as just another pretext for maintaining the economic, commercial, and financial blockade against the Cuban people.
This is a unilateral and unfounded decision against a sovereign and peaceful country.
The Sri Lanka-Cuba Friendship Association emphasized that the extraterritorial effects of the US economic war against Cuba have a direct impact on the European Union’s member states and companies.
The Association added that those sanctions limit aid and trade with the United States and entail significant international restrictions that affect trade relations with other countries.
