As part of the drills, Russian and Syrian pilots carried out air patrols in the provinces of Quneitera, Deraa and Sweida, near the borders with occupied Palestine and Jordan, and in the extensive desert region of Al-Badieh in eastern Syria.
Air crews from both countries practiced individual and group strikes against targets of terrorist groups supported by the United States forces deployed in the nearby Tanef region, on the Iraqi border.
Russian and Syrian Su-35 fighters and Su-34 bombers took part in the maneuvers.
In addition, Russian and Syrian air defense formations conducted an exercise to repel an air attack in the context of a possible foreign invasion of the country.
Syrian units intensified their military maneuvers, some drills in conjunction with Russian troops, and included parachute jumping and airborne operations, in addition to the graduation of several groups of elite troops.
