We renew, every year on June 5, our commitment to protect our country’s environment and biodiversity, President Miguel Diaz-Canel wrote on his X profile.
We are facing challenges, such as desertification and drought, but only together we can strengthen our resilience, said the Cuban head of State, who called for actions for a sustainable future.
National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament) President Esteban Lazo, in turn, assured that “Cuba reaffirms its commitment to promote the protection and conservation of the environment and the fight against climate change.”
World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 1972 and is sponsored by a country each year.
This year, it is being hosted by Saudi Arabia.
