Supreme Court will hold a conference on Environmental Justice

Bogota, Jun 4 (Prensa Latina) The Supreme Court of Colombia will hold a conference today on Environmental Justice to analyze and discuss the challenges associated with the practice of law that protects the care of the planet.

As part of the activities to commemorate World Environment Day, to be held tomorrow, the panelists will discuss the challenges posed by climate change, environmental punitive law, and tort liability for environmental damage, according to the court.

Other topics to be discussed will deal with the subjects that deserve special constitutional protection, contamination, and illegal exploitation of mining deposits and other materials.

Among the expected experts are the Minister of Mines, Omar Camacho, and Gloria Rodríguez, magistrate of the Special Jurisdiction of Peace.

According to the information released, the session is aimed at students, academics, researchers, public servants, environmental authorities, legislators, judges, magistrates, civil society organizations, and citizens in general.

It is part of the Environmental Plan of the Supreme Court of Justice, which includes training strategies in environmental legal matters.
