The IU International Policy Commission “warmly and fraternally” congratulated Sheinbaum and the MORENA-Green Party-Labor Party coalition, for their “overwhelming electoral victory, which will allow Mexico’s transformation process to continue to advance towards higher levels of equality and social justice.”

IU is happy, in the first place, because “Mexico will have a female president for the first time after more than 200 years, a historic event that had not happened since its independence and, what is even more important, because it is taking place in a country that is highly affected by men’s violence.”

In this regard, the Spanish organization is convinced “that with Claudia, the fight against feminicides and for equality will advance substantially in the coming years.”
