In a letter addressed to the transitional Prime Minister Garry Conille, they expressed their concern about the appointment of the future Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action.
‘Over the years, some ministers have harmed the sports sector instead of contributing to its advancement due to their lack of knowledge of the field and their outsider status,’ the letter referred.
They urged Conille to consult with athletes, coaches, experts, and members of the Haitian Olympic Committee before making a final decision on the next minister, who must meet requirements such as experience, passion, commitment, and a spirit of national reconciliation.
‘Those involved in the sports sector know the specific realities, challenges, and opportunities in our country. Their local experience is invaluable in making the right decisions,’ the letter underscores, published in the Le Nouvelliste daily.
