After three days of this month, the country has two days without deaths caused by violence, according to a report by the National Civil Police (PNC).
The accumulated at the beginning of June is added to the 21 days that closed last May, 19 in April, 21 days in March and the 24 days that were counted in February and January for a total of 111 with zero homicides so far this year.
After years in which murders were attributed to gang violence, now the average number of crimes against life is mostly not related to gangs, and stands at 0.33 percent per day.
Police statistics so far this year report 52 murders with April and May having the highest levels. The figures show that in January nine crimes occurred, February six, March 10, April 13 and May totaled 14 murders. Most of the violent deaths occurred in circumstances of intolerance, such as fights between alcoholics and crimes of passion.
