The Chinese Foreign Ministry informed in a statement that this mega-project is effectively aligned with Türkïye’s “Middle Corridor” plan.

China is willing to maintain multi-level exchanges with Türkiye, make full use of the role of mechanisms such as the bilateral Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee and promote the effective docking of the joint construction of “The Belt and Road” and the “Middle Corridor” plan, Wang said.

He noted that building a comprehensive, deep and high-level relationship is in the fundamental interests of both countries and their peoples. China firmly supports Türkiye to continue exploring the path of independent development; while supporting Ankara’s efforts to safeguard sovereignty, security and development interests.

The Chinese incumbent also appreciated Turkish understanding and support for Beijing’s legitimate position on the fundamental interests related to China’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

China is willing to expand imports of high-quality local agricultural products, support enterprises of the two countries to continuously improve the level and scientific and technological content of cooperation, and intensify collaboration in culture, education, tourism, aviation and other fields, Wang said.
