Deputy Minister of Communication Gabriela Alcón confirmed the trip of the official delegation to the press at Casa Grande del Pueblo (the seat of government): “President Luis Arce will travel this Tuesday to Russia to participate in the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum. He is a special guest,” Alcón said.

According to the functionary, Arce will present Bolivia’s Communitarian Economic Social Productive Model (MESCP in spanish), in addition to holding a meeting with Putin, with whom he has already spoken via phone, on May 13th, regarding trade, economy, and energy projects, all beneficial for both countries. The president will also meet heads of Russian companies interested in investing in several spheres. Arce also will preside over a conference at a university.

“Three Russian companies have expressly requested a meeting with President Luis Arce. We also expect good management from this intense agenda at the Economic Forum,” Alcón stated.

The presence of President Arce, as a special guest, at SPIEF evidences the interest in Bolivia’s MESCP.

More than 130 countries and nearly 19,000 persons, including heads of state, government representatives, leaders of Russian regions and world-class CEOs attend SPIEF each year.
