In the 2023-2024 Federal Electoral Process, the Presidency of the nation, the new Congress, eight governorships, the head of government of the capital and a series of local positions were defined, the regional bloc said in a statement released last night by Executive Secretary Jorge Arreaza.
ALBA-TCP highlighted the profound democratic vocation of the Mexican people, demonstrated in the largest electoral process in the history of that country, which ratified, in a comfortable and overwhelming manner, its own path in the affirmation of its sovereignty and national liberation project.
It underlined that with this it defeated “an unprecedented campaign of lies, media manipulation and the instrumentalization of social media for political purposes”.
The integration mechanism applauded the undisputed democratic triumph of the candidate of the National Regeneration Movement, the Workers’ Party and the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, “a worthy example of Latin American and Caribbean women”.
The Alliance emphasized that her extensive trajectory, honesty and praiseworthy preparation, “brings together all the conditions to consolidate the process of the Fourth Transformation undertaken six years ago by the president and popular leader, Andrés Manuel López Obrador”.
