Gálvez even considered irreversible the exit polls results that came out before the National Electoral Institute (INE) released the preliminary voting figures, in which the new president-elect won with a lead of more than 20 percent over her.
“I acknowledged the result because I love Mexico and because I know that if our government does well, our country will do well; without a doubt, it is a great historical milestone that our country is going to have its first female president, it is part of the important advances we have achieved in terms of equality and gender”, she stated from a hotel in this capital city.
However, she said that she will continue as a defender of democracy, she will return “in three or six years” and she will always be “a warrior who will fight for a country where life, truth and freedom are respected”.
According to the political representative, she also communicated in person with Sheinbaum, she told her that she saw “a Mexico with a lot of pain and violence”, and wished that “she would solve the serious problems of our people”.
