As for the aspects of trade negotiations being conducted, of course, they are not public, and it is normal for each country to defend its interests, the spokesman specified this Monday at a meeting with the press.
Negotiations will continue because there is the political will of the leaders of the two countries. Coordination of trade issues will continue, and we have no doubt that all necessary agreements will be reached,” Peskov said.
The spokesman also noted that the issue of the continuation of cooperation between Moscow and Beijing in the field of energy supply “in fact constituted an item on the agenda of negotiations” between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
And in general, as was also recorded in the signed bilateral statement, both Russia and China, as confirmed by the leaders of the two countries, are interested in maintaining and deepening the dialogue in the energy sphere, Peskov added.
The Russian President was on a state visit to China on May 16-17 in two cities: Beijing and Harbin.
On May 16, talks between the Russian and Chinese presidents were held in the Chinese capital. The two sides discussed all aspects of Russian-Chinese cooperation, with special attention to economic issues. The two leaders also adopted a joint statement.
