Ecuadorian academics will give their opinion on reforms

Quito, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) The multiparty commission of the National Assembly of Ecuador, which is processing the bills derived from the referendum, will receive a group of academics to delve into the approved topics.

As regulated, the Legislature must establish the regulations to apply the results of the consultative process of April 21st, in which citizens approved nine questions related to security.

In tune with the popular will, the head of the Executive sent his proposals to the Assembly.

Although Noboa’s projects must be debated and the assembly members of the special multiparty commission can adjust them, they cannot be rejected because they are derived from the referendum, that is, the Ecuadorians already gave them their approval at the polls.

The working group’s schedule includes hearing from representatives of social groups, universities, institutions, and citizens in general.

The process, including a plenary discussion of the proposals, must be concluded before July 4th.
