The Safe Access to Schools Act creates 20-meter zones around school property to which certain activities are prohibited, including “impeding access, disrupting or interfering with educational activities, or attempting to intimidate an individual,” a news release from the Ministry of Education informed.
CTV NEWS stated that these zones are in effect on school days between 7:00 hours, local time, and 18:00 hours, local time, while extracurricular activities are held.
The law also gives police the authority to issue tickets and make arrests.
