The Eiffel Tower workers discovered the coffins with French flags inside early on Saturday. The information gained prominence on Sunday, after three foreigners were arrested in connection with the incident.

Police sources quoted by Franceinfo informed that two of the detainees were trying to travel to Berlin by bus, while the other person behind bars was the van’s driver.

Initial elements of the investigation indicate that the driver declared that he had been paid 40 euros to transport the cargo to one of the most touristic points in this city.

The Paris Territorial Security is in charge of the investigation in a tense scenario, due to the war in Ukraine and the publications circulating about the possible deployment of French instructors to train the Ukrainian troops fighting against Russia.
