As the soldier wrote this Friday on Telegram, Ukrainian units are making desperate attempts to recover the Kanal micro-district in Chasov Yar currently in Russian hands.

Marochko recalled that the units of the Eastern group of the Russian forces have established themselves on the western outskirts of the Kanal micro-district and are advancing towards the administrative center of Chasov Yar.

He also reported that Russian units advanced towards the area from the north and south, putting the Ukrainian troops, who were trying to stop the advance of the Eastern group, in danger of being surrounded.

Previously, the State Duma (lower house of the Russian parliament) reported that the territory of Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People’s Republic is under the control of Russian units by almost 70 percent, although such information has not been confirmed by the Ministry of Defense.
