During the latest meeting of the national group that addresses this issue, the head of Government pointed out that “an effective administrative confrontation is not achieved in factories and warehouses, where, in most cases, the problems arise.”
Marrero warned that the population’s dissatisfaction persists, showing that the work is still insufficient.
“We must intensify actions, mainly preventive ones,” he stressed.
The Presidency of the Republic informed on its website that participants in the meeting noted that evasive behaviors have been identified, which urgently need to be confronted, in order to increase the income to the State Budget, whose main beneficiary is the people.
The head of the National Tax Administration Office, Mary Blanca Ortega, pointed out that at the end of April, revenue collection shows growth, compared to the same period last year, while local income and the central and Social Security budgets show overcompliance.
She explained that at the end of the first four months of 2024, around 9,300 fiscal control actions had been executed, and debts for more than 336 million pesos had been established.
Ortega explained that due to tax indiscipline, other sanctions were requested, such as withdrawals of authorization to carry out the economic activity and temporary and permanent closures of establishments.
The official informed that in 2023 and to date, 194 reports of complaints for tax evasion have been filed.
Participants at the meeting also learned that Cuba updated its mechanisms to fight drugs trafficking and other related crimes.
