On his X profile, Rodriguez pointed out that in nearly eight months of siege in Gaza 36,224 people have been killed, nearly 70 percent of whom are women and children and 81,777 citizens have been wounded.
On Thursday, representatives of civil society gathered at the headquarters of the Cuban Association of the United Nations to demand an immediate end of the genocide by Israel’s Zionist regime against Palestine, and to call on the international community to unite to stop the massacre.
In this regard, the vice president of the National Association of Economists and Accountants and hero of the Republic of Cuba, Ramón Labañino, urged the progressive forces to work to contain the escalation of war driven by the centers of hegemonic power in view of the advance of the world towards multipolarity.
Cuba advocates peace in those territories on the basis of the creation of two States, allowing the people of Palestine to exercise their right to self-determination and to have an independent and sovereign State within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
