The celebration will take place at the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples (ICAP, in Spanish) in the presence of this country’s Parliament President Esteban Lazo.
During his stay in Cuba, Bee will hold talks with Cuban authorities and visit places of historical and cultural interest, among other activities, the Cuban legislative body published on its website.
The president of the Cuban Parliament met with his Surinamese counterpart at the National Capitol, the seat of the Legislature, on Thursday. The meeting went beyond formality and showed the deep bonds of brotherhood, friendship, selflessness, and gratitude that unite the two nations.
We will strengthen and diversify our relations, which can include many sectors, and thus take other steps to promote integration in the Caribbean, Lazo remarked.
He also expressed gratitude for Surinam’s condemnation of the US economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba and its inclusion in Washington’s State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list.
Lazo outlined the processes that led to the approval of the current Constitution and explained the structure of the system of the organs of People’s Power in Cuba.
The delegation of Surinam’s National Assembly is also composed of legislators Asiskumar Gajadien, Melvin Bouva, and Secretary General of the Legislative Body Ruth De Windt, among other functionaries.
