“There is an excellent relationship in terms of cooperation with Russia, the trip is confirmed. The Foreign Ministry is looking at the issues that will be carried out, as appropriate,” Alcón stated at a press conference and recalled that Arce spoke by telephone on May 13th with Putin. In the talk, they addressed cooperation on trade, economy, and energy.

On that occasion, Arce expressed his commitment to deepening relations between Bolivia and Russia for mutual benefit.

“There are very important projects here in Bolivia and our good relationship will allow us also to show ourselves to the world,” Alcón concluded.

As the main guest at the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum, Arce’s presence confirms the international interest that Bolivia’s Productive Community Social Economic Model arouses internationally.

“I can say that for the moment it is certain that the president of Bolivia will come (to the forum),” said presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov in statements to the RT channel, and reported that work is still being done regarding the presence of other leaders at the Forum. He reiterated that “the president of Bolivia will definitely come and be present in the main part, in the plenary session.”

“The main person there will be our president (Vladimir Putin) and the president of Bolivia,” Ushakov concluded regarding the Forum, which will take place from June 5th to 8th in Saint Petersburg.

The governments of Bolivia and Russia restarted cooperation in December 2020 and promoted agreements on hydrocarbons, lithium, and the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
