The diplomat told Prensa Latina that the Belarussian legislature’s statement supports the declaration made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba on May 15, which calls for Cuba’s exclusion from the list.
It is clear to the entire world community that Cuba has no connection whatsoever with terrorism and that the United States uses this instrument to illegally exert economic pressure against a sovereign State, the document delivered to Perez by the legislature stresses.
It also states that it is astonished to see that Washington refuses to listen to the multiple demands of UN member countries, as well as political and religious organizations that demand an end to the blockade against Cuba.
Excluding Cuba from the SST list will be a fundamental step that will allow Cubans free access to world trade.
Finally, the declaration states that Belarus highly values relations with Cuba and is committed to their future strengthening, the head of the Cuban mission in Belarus noted.
