Some of commitments assumed by the delegations were to work for sustainable and regenerative tourism, as well as to share good practices and promote cooperation, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism (MINCIT).

The Declaration highlights the collective will to promote environmentally friendly tourism in the region with a shared vision; establishes a unified approach to improve tourism practices, and seeks to promote collaboration in this sector.

It also highlights the pressing need to step up efforts to protect natural and cultural resources, mitigate the effects of climate change and to ensure that this activity contributes to the economic, social and environmental well-being of local communities.
