The record high of 1.0019 billion kWh in electricity consumption was reached on Tuesday, although these indicators are expected to continue to rise and cause severe pressure on power supply during the upcoming peak heat waves.

To ensure power supply, and as directed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Vietnam Electricity Group and related units are implementing a series of measures aimed at optimizing system operation and the electricity market.

Other important tasks, VNA news agency said, include improving electricity imports, accelerating investment progress and encouraging customers to use electricity efficiently and economically.
