On the social network X, the Foreign Minister highlighted the Mexican president’s pronouncement regarding the unjust inclusion of Cuba on the list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.
Rodríguez published on the platform a fragment of López Obrador’s statements, issued the day before in his usual press conference, in which he defends the right of the Cuban people to live without the economic, commercial and financial blockade.
The head of State considered it a step forward that U.S. authorities informed about the elimination of Cuba from among the nations that “do not fully cooperate” in the fight against that problem.
“But they have it on another list (…) Only two countries in the world are in favor of the blockade against Cuba. And terrorism for what? Pure excuses! A great ideological burden and there is also a group in the United States that makes a lot of profit at the expense of the suffering of the Cuban people”, he denounced.
The peoples have the right to be independent, and there is no nation, no matter how powerful it may be, that places itself above other peoples, I do not believe in hegemonies, he said.
The governor wondered what is the Cuban people’s fault for suffering under a blockade that prevents them from having food, medicines and basic services.
