In a statement, the solidarity group strongly rejected Washington’s aggressive policy towards Cuba and called for respect for its sovereignty.
At the same time, the Caribbean nation demands the unconditional lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba for over 60 years.
Likewise, it reaffirms its unconditional support to the Cuban Revolution and praises Cuba’s role in promoting international solidarity and cooperation, which St. Vincent and the Grenadines has benefited from in several areas of social and economic life.
In this way, the southern Caribbean island nation joins the concert of nations calling for the immediate removal of Cuba from the questioned SST list.
Today, Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez stressed that this US measure aims to stifle Cuba´s economy and hold the government accountable for its impact on the Cuban people.
Recently, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) informed that Cuba was eliminated from the list of nations which, according to Washington, “do not fully cooperate” in the fight against terrorism.
The Cuban government, on the other hand, considered this provision as insufficient, which is not equivalent to the elimination of the SST list, so it implies serious limitations for the economic and commercial exchange of the Caribbean country.
