Leaders of Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia and UAE to visit China

Beijing, May 27 (Prensa Latina) The heads of state of Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will visit China between May 28th and June 1st, the Foreign Ministry announced.

Responding to an invitation of their counterpart Xi Jinping, King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain, and the presidents of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Tunisia, Kais Saied, and the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, will visit and attend the opening of the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum in China.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the president will deliver the opening speech at the event, which will take place in Beijing starting on May 30th.

The meeting will be co-chaired by the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, and by his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk.

In mid-May, The Chinese head of state sent a letter of congratulations to the rotating president of the Council of the League of Arab States (Arab League) and king of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, for the convening of the 33rd Summit of that organization, highlighting that the Arab League has long been committed to promoting unity and self-strengthening of the region, as well as promoting peace, stability, and development in the Middle East.

Xi Jinping also pointed out that in recent years, facing changes in the world, Arab nations have persisted in preserving independence, promoting development, defending equity and justice, safeguarding regional peace and stability, and playing increasingly important strengthening cooperation in the Global South.

Relations between China and Arab countries are currently in the best period in history, Xi said and recalled his participation in the first Summit between both sides in December 2022, in which a master plan for the development of bilateral ties was comprehensively planned, and agreements were made to make the best effort in building a China-Arab States community with a shared future in the new era.
