The event is held face-to-face and virtually at the Tryp Habana Libre Hotel. It brings together researchers, professionals, functionaries, teachers, students, and specialists related to meteorology and climatology to analyze the impact of extreme hydrometeorological phenomena.

Specialists involved in contingency plans and actions against extreme weather conditions will discuss and exchange results, opinions, and experiences of national interest and the state of knowledge and multidisciplinary research in Atmospheric Sciences.

The 12th Cuban Congress of Meteorology, the 5th National Meeting on the History of Meteorology, and the 2nd “Benito Viñes Marturell in Memoriam” Congress on Tropical Hurricanes are taking place in this year’s event.

There is also a Congress on Pollution and Chemistry of the Atmosphere, a Climatology Congress, and the 2nd Symposium on Agroecology and Resilience to Climate Change, among other events.

The agenda also includes debates on Marine Meteorology, Weather Forecasting, and Aeronautical Meteorology.

The 2024 Meteorology Convention aims to assess contingency plans in the face of extreme meteorological phenomena and deepen and exchange experiences and the state of multidisciplinary research on the laws and mechanisms of Atmospheric Sciences.
